A price from us

Interstate moving
Crossing a state line changes the regulator, the licence, the estimate rules and the valuation options. The authority and vetting side is covered under long-distance and interstate carriers, and route planning belongs to our long-distance partner site.

How is this different from the carrier directory?
These pages are about the job: what the service includes, what it excludes, how it gets scoped, what you sign and what you have to do yourself. The carrier directory is about the company: which operating authority each category requires, how carriers of that type bill, and what to ask before you book. Most people need both, in that order — work out what you are buying, then work out who you are buying it from.
Can I book more than one service on the same move?
Almost every move is more than one. A typical full-service job is local moving plus packing; a job with a date gap adds storage; a downsizing move is often all three. They are separated here because they are scoped, priced and staffed differently, not because they are sold separately. Describe the whole job when you request a match, and the movers you are matched with will scope it as one project.
Do you quote or price any of these services?
No, and that is deliberate. Moving Union is a matching service, not a carrier and not a broker: we do not perform moves, issue estimates or arrange transportation. Where we show a cost range at all it is an informational market band computed by one engine that every page on this site reads, and it is never a quote. The company you are matched with issues the estimate.
What if my move crosses a state line?
Then a completely different rulebook applies — federal household-goods authority rather than state authority, a formal estimate regime, and mandatory valuation options.
